I HAVE TO FIND A NEW PAIR OF PANTS FOR MY CHRISTMAS DRESS CHALLENGE!!!

This is what my original pair looked like at the beginning of the challenge on September 11th.

And this what they looked like last night.  The shirt is still a bit tight, so I will keep that as part of the challenge.

My sister decided she didnt like her black pants (and I want a pair) SO, I may  use them as my new challenge pants!!!

OR. LOOK AT THIS DRESS!!!! My BFF surprised me with a dress tonight. She has lost quite a bit of weight, and thot I might like it. Its still way to small. SO, I could use this as my Dress Challenge.
Its very tight!! It shows all the bulges, and rolls, but I love it!!! I cant wait til I can wear it!!!

2. Calories: Im staying between 1000 and 1200. Im in a Triple Dog Challenge and they supply menus for us. If you would like more info on Allans Challenge click here to visit his page, and leave him a comment. I found this week harder to follow. I like to have options to choose from. BUT, if I didnt like it, or didnt have it, or am allergic to it, I just left it off my plate, and went without.

3.Excersize: Im loving Brad Gansbergs 5K in 100 days. This week was the graduation run. SO excited!!! I did the whole 5K without stopping.  Im also doing a 31 day Challenge hosted by Jen and Clyde. I have committed to run one mile every day for the month of October. On Thursday I had my first 'fail'.  I was nauseated and vomiting, and did not have energy to do anything but crawl into bed as soon as I got home from work at 8PM.   On Tues I did Zumba and Body Pump!! For a breakdown of each days activities check here
4. Water. I drank 100 to 125 oz of water/flavored water every single day except Thurs. I was nauseated and vomiting. So I managed to sip about 25 oz of Sprite flavored water!!

5. Book. Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst. Im still on chapter 2. I will give a seperate blog when Im ready to review that chapter.
My statement for Give Yourself the Best Gift:

"This Holiday Season, I want to contine to lose weight. To be healthy, to not fall off the 'wagon'. I want to encourage others in their journey and learn from them. This Christmas I want to be able to say that I have done my best and see a loss on that scale. I want to learn to control what I eat, when I eat, and why I eat. I want to be in control."

Still working on the last two...........(this has been the same since I started!!)
8. (NSV) Financial....I want to make and stick to a budget for Christmas gifts, food, travel..
9. (NSV) Sleep...Giving my body the rest it needs. I was in bed every night last week before 11PM.

Birthday cake anyone?

My best friend and I try to get together twice a month for some 'us' time!! We always start with the gym and then do a pedi, or get groceries, or eat or watch a movie, or just sit and cry...........

Well, today she took me to Texas Grill house to celebrate my birthday. (It was three weeks ago) I had a delicious peice of roasted chicken and a potato, and I ordered off the senior menu for smaller portions.  SO GOOD!! ANYWAY, when the waitress brought the checks, my friend said, OH Ill take hers, were celebrating her birthday.

We continued to talk, gossip, chatter, laugh, giggle, and all the sudden we hear this dinner triangle and all the cooks come out and I get a big ole YEEEHAAWWWW from all the customers eating lunch. ALong with the YEHAW came the above pictured peice of cake. It smelled so good.  I was totally full, and NO CAKE allowed on Allens plan. So my friend had a bite, and I asked if I could have a box to take it home!! In the past, I wouldve said, Its my bday party, and Im gonna eat that! And then I wouldve been miserable and uncomfortable. BUT, this time, I decided that I am going to pass! And I do not regret it one bit!!

Its now in the belly of my son!!

Shrinkvivor Week 2

Weigh in this AM is 204. Down 2.4 from last Wednesdays weigh in.
Total Exercise minutes is 585.
Our mini challene was to get 7-9 hours of sleep each night. This is one of my goals in each of my challenges and I always seem to fail!!

Last week I put on Exile Island, Im not sure if I was put there because I had the lowest percentage of weight loss, or if I was voted there by my teammates. But nonetheless,  Im no longer competeing for the big ginormous prize, but for, well Im not sure what else.  But competition is always good for a push to get it done.

Im working on running a 5K in 100 days with Brad Gansberg, and a 31 Day Challenge where I run one mile every day for the month of October.   And Im in the Dress Challenge. I chose a pair of pants and shirt that I want to get into by Christmas. And also The Best Gift I can give myself Challege. In this challenge you pick your own goals and  move towards them.  OH YEAH, and Allens Triple Dog Challenge. Hes providing menus we are to follow every week, aalong with a mini challenge.

Im winning!

24 hrs and I am still winning!!!! Those things are getting stale and hard, and Im getting thinner!!! I will win this battle!!

My two college kids are home for the weekend!! YAH!!!!!!!!!! I love when my family is all back together!! Its so much fun hear them talk about what they are doing/singing/trainers/ballroom dancing.  YES, my son, is taking ballroom dancing classes. Id love to learn!

If you would like to learn to run, here is a great resourse. Brad Gansberg is a wonderful teacher. Each week you watch a short video, and you have three interval runs.  At the end of each week, you email him your thots, etc, and he emails you the password for the next weeks material. Any time you have questions, you email him, and I have always gotten a reply back within 24 hrs. I hear hes starting a new class soon, give it chance!!

498 Calories   55.05 minutes  3.536 miles
Week 13 complete and on to week 14.  I think thats our final week.

I got sent to Exile Island this week. Im not sure if my teammates voted me there, or if I just had the lowest percentage of weight loss.  None the less, Im still eligible for a prize, just not the big ginormous winner one.

159 calories, 13.43 minutes  1.002 miles
I was sore when I started this one. I didnt want to do it!!

Made To Crave Chapter one Review

For the Christmas Dress Challenge, we are challenged to read a book, to help us thru this journey. I chose Made to Crave By Lysa Terkeurst.  She is the President of Proverbs 31 Ministry.  Ive read this book once before just soaking up all she said. Im rereading it and highlighting sections, answering the questions that go with each chapter. Researching some of the Bible verses she uses.

The 'goal' of the book is to learn to satisfy your deepest desire with God, not food.

In the preface she talks about, we already know what we need to do, and should do, ie.. eat vegetables, fruit, exersize, etc.   But we need to find the WANT TO. I really really want to do this, to succeed. Do I truely want to make changes and make sacrifices?  or do I want to 'start tomorrow', 'Im doing the best I can', 'forget it, I cant do this'.  What is my attitude. Do I have my I WANT TO?

She makes the comment that this journey is not just about losing weight, its about 'recalibrating our souls so that we want to change ' spiritually, physically, and metally.'

Chapter One: Whats Really Going ON Here?

Lysa speaks quite a bit about Cravings, Lust of the eye, and Boasting.

Cravings: Trying to get our physical desires et outside the will of God
Lust of the eye: Trying to get our material deires meet outside the will of God
Boasting: Trying to get our need for significance met outside the will of God.

God created us to crave. But it shouldnt be food we crave, it should be Him!

My 'takeaway' verse for chapter one:  Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial  1 Corinthians 10:23

31 Day Challenge and DONUTS!

Now that my sister and her son have moved in with us, Ive gotten used to seeing 'things' appear.  A cat, (I DONT LIKE THEM!) in my basement, a cigarette butt beside my refridgerator, (I HATE SMOKING), Mountain Dew (I only drink diet), Two extra cars in my driveway, (and one in my yard making very deep ruts because he got stuck), and tonight when I got home from work, I found this.
Not just one box, BUT TWO!!! Are you kidding me?!??! Krispy Kremes are one of my all time biggest weaknesses, next to French Fries.  Ive managed to avoid them for 5 hrs now. This is a true test for me.

158 Calories, 12.55 Minutes 1.002 nmiles

Running

Two weeks ago at my 5K and again tonight my right foot 'fell asleep' while I was running. Any suggestions?  I was thinking, maybe my shoes are tied to tight and then my feet swell when the longer I run? But, Im looking for any suggestions out there!!

Tonight for 5K in 100 Days was hard!!! I had to push myself to get thru that last interval. BUT, my mind won out over my body, and I DID IT!!!

Best Gift Challenge

My statement:

"This Holiday Season, I want to contine to lose weight. To be healthy, to not fall off the 'wagon'. I want to encourage others in their journey and learn from them.  This Christmas I want to be able to say that I have done my best and see a loss on that scale. I want to learn to control what I eat, when I eat, and why I eat. I want to be in control."

 My 7 9 action points:

1. Book. Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst:  I truely love this book. So down to earth, and such common sense!!
In the chapter for this week shes talking about her absent dad.  She says we cant blame out eating on our past, but somehow it seems to shape us.   This is her quote: " To Think on hard things keeps us in hard spots and only serves to deepen our feelings of emotional emptiness."  In other words, dont dwell in the negative, the hard times. Go get help if you need it. Absolutley nothing wrong with going to counseling!!
2.  Calories: Im staying between 900 and 1100. Im in a Triple Dog Challenge and they supply menus for us. This week I only deviated twice. Once to add a 1/2 tsp of PB to breakfast, and once to add 1/2 Low Carb Yogurt and 1/2 Choc milk to make a smoothis for my recovery after a run.

3. Excersize: Im loving Brad Gansbergs 5K in 100 days. I cant believe I can run!! Im also crosstraining with Body Pump, and free weights, and medicine balls. This week I had a total of 168 minutes. This was decreased because on Tues I helped my sister move (instead of doing body pump). Altho I did hurt the next day! Its amazing how heavy dressers, and beds, and TVs etc can be! I also missed Body Pump on Friday. Had hubs in the ER. TWO kidney stones. When I finally got him home, I was up and down the steps every 15 mins checking on him and delivering drinks and pain meds. He sees a doc tomorrow.

4.  Water: My goal is 100 oz a day. Kicked butt on this one!!!

5. I want to find a calorie tracking method. Ive been sticking with Livestrong.  Ill stick with this one, because I know it.

6.  I will post a picture of my scale once a week.

Beginning Weight: 210.2
Current Weight: 207.2
Total Lost: 3.0 lbs
7. I will follow up with others in this Challenge and leave encouragement and praise.  I wasnt able to leave many comments this week. Every time I hit enter, the whole comment would go away.

Still working on the last two...........

8. (NSV) Financial....I want to make and stick to a budget for Christmas gifts, food, travel..

9. (NSV) Sleep...Giving my body the rest it needs.

Blessings
Deb
