Im getting my 100oz of fluids in every day!!

Im staying between 900 and 1100 calories every day!! THanks to Triple Dog Dare Challenge and his easy to follow preplanned menus!!

Exersize going great!! Hauled boxes and TVs, and beds, dressers up and down a long hill to the Uhaul truck. (OK I know thats not officially working out, but my arms and calves are mighty sore today!!)
Monday: 45 minute treadmill run jog.
Tues: nothing
Wed: 15 mins free weights. So sore, I just couldnt finish
Hopefully Ill make up lots of ground the rest of the week!

On Sunday my dear sweet sister texted me and aasked if she and my nephew could move in with us til she finds a place of their own.  Verbal abuse it a horrible disease!!  On Tues, we spent all morning putting most of their belongings in storage.  They brought basics with them, and are crashing in the bedrooms of my college kids. So thankful I have a bed for them!! Its hard to get our schedules all figured out, but it will work!!!

Oh and I have to tell you about the 5K. I had a PR 41.45 I was so excited!!! Didnt run the whole thing. Next time!! My daughter walked it!! So proud of her!

Im whooped, so off to bed!

The Best GIft.

Thrice Blessed  is leading a Challenge. You pick your own goals. There are a few rules, but this is YOUR gift to yourelf.

My statement:

"This Holiday Season, I want to contine to lose weight. To be healthy, to not fall off the 'wagon'. I want to encourage others in their journey and learn from them.  This Christmas I want to be able to say that I have done my best and see a loss on that scale. I want to learn to control what I eat, when I eat, and why I eat. I want to be in control."

 My 7 9 action points:

1.Book. Made to Crave. This week in my reading the one comment she made that stuck out to me the most is "French Fries dont love me. The only lasting things they give me are cholesterol and cellulite."  French Fries are my number one downfall! I LOVE them!!! Other than mom and dad, it was my first word!! When I was a baby, carseats werent required, and I would stand between my mom and dad while they were driving and when we saw a McDs, I would scream fr frie!
2. Calories: 1100-1200 per day.  I was able to stick to this. Some days even below 1000.  The end of the week are a bit iffy. I had a view and funeral of a very dear friend, and I would track when I got home, so I cant say I didnt miss something.
3. Exercise: Two days of Brads Learn to Run in 100 days, one day of body pump, and I jogged a 5k. New personal record 41 mins 45 secs.
4.  Water: My goal is 100 oz a day. Kicked butt on this one!!!

5. I want to find a calorie tracking method. Ive been sticking with Livestrong.
6.  I will post a picture of my scale once a week. Along with my calories and water intake..

Still working on the last three...........
7. I will follow up with others in this Challenge and leave encouragement and praise.

8. (NSV) Financial....I want to make and stick to a budget for Christmas gifts, food, travel..

9. (NSV) Sleep...Giving my body the rest it needs.
1.  Starting Weight: 209.8   Todays weight 210.2  Down 1/2 lb from last week. But still up from the starting weight.
2.  Im aiming for size 18. Starting at 20-22.

3. Name of Book:  1000 Gifts By Ann Voskamp.  This book is intransit somewhere in New York. Amazon still hasnt put this book in my hands, so Im reading Made to Crave, til it gets here.
Quote of the week. "French fries dont love me. The only lasting things they give me are cholesterol and cellulite"  Shes talking about not turning to food to fill that empy spot or give us that 'high' that makes us feel good.

4. Caloric Limit: 1100 to 1200   I was able to do this. Some days even under 1000.  The end of the week with the viewings and funerals, I waited til the end of the day to track, and Im sure I missed some calories!!

5. Exercise:   5K in 100 days by Brad Gansberg... This is three days a week. 2 Days a week at the gym for free weights, medicine balls, and Body Pump classes.   I did Brads 5K for 2 days, Saturday I ran a 5K. New personal record. 41 mins 45 secs.   I also did body pump at the gym on Tues.

6. I would love to lose 15 lbs during this challenge!! I guess  its still 16 lbs I want to lose!

7. Water: 100 oz per day  Kicked this one!!! The girls at work (docs office) keep insisting I be tested for diabetes because 'noone drinks that much on purpose.'  So I gave in and during the week they tested my BS.  60 fasting 120 post eating.  They are now convinced!!!

Im going to follow Allens menus starting Monday.  Looks very doable to me.

Have a blessed week!!  Hopefully next week, my loss will be more!

Goodbye

Today a dear friend passed away.  He was taken to the hospital yesterday, unresponsive. He never 'woke' up.  The kept him 'alive' on the vent until all his children could come and say goodbye.

He was only 50 years old! Way to young to die. Ten years ago he found a lump on his arm and his chest. He had cancer. A cancer that only effects children. They didnt know how to treat him. So much guessing, experiments.

He lost his battle with life on this earth, but he is rejoicing in heaven! What a glorious sight that must have been as a generous,  faithful, passionate, kind, gentle pastor entered heavens gates.

Over the next two days we will celebrate his life.  Laugh, cry, Hug, and rejoice for his body is now healed, and he is no longer in pain.

If you are the praying type, he leaves behind a wife, four daughters (age 24 to 15) and one son (age 13).

Blessings

Christmas Dress Week one Update

1.  Starting Weight: 209.8   Todays weight 210.8  Up one pound. this is "thanks" to my getting lost in a bag of potato chips fiasco. My fingers are tight, and I feel like crap!! I have a feeling that number will go up before it goes down.

2.  Im aiming for size 18. Starting at 20-22.

3. Name of Book:  1000 Gifts By Ann Voskamp.  This book is intransit somewhere in New York. So hopefully it will be here very soon. Im starting a journal of Thankful things! The first 25 came (snap finger) just like that, then I had to think. Im adding at least one new thing a day.

4. Caloric Limit: 1100 to 1200  I was able to do this!!! Except for potato chip day. Thankfully the bag emptying experience was in the AM, and I was able to drink water and eat carrots the rest of the day. Im still working on figuring out how to post from My Fitness Pal, as my proof. Thankyou to Amber, from overcomingmysugaraddiction for giving me some good pointers on getting the ticker there. Id also like to figure out how to put the daily overview on there, too.
5. Exercise:   5K in 100 days by Brad Gansberg... This is three days a week. 2 Days a week at the gym for free weights, medicine balls, and Body Pump classes.  Saturday AM I mustve turned off my alarm in my sleep, cause when I woke up, it was 930AM. Im guessing this was  because I was up til 230AM the night before trying to save my crashed computer. This meant I missed my 2nd body pump class of the week.

6. I would love to lose 15 lbs during this challenge!! I guess now its 16 lbs I want to lose!

7. Water: 100 oz per day I surpassed 100 every day. On my potato chip bungle day I actually had 175 oz. I really really wanted to get that greasy, salty, nasty taste outta mouth and outta my body!

Looking forward to a better week this week!
Now Im going to go share some bloggy love.

2. Calories: 1100-1200 per day. I want to learn to plan for 'special parties'.  Preplanning, is something I want to learn.

First time and the last time

Until this morning I have never had a binge episode.... Now I feel absolutely horrible.

Let me back up.
One of my parttime jobs is working for our church. We do not have an office in the church, so I keep everything at my house. (locked up and password protected.)

Last night I was running a Windows update on the computer, and it crashed. I mean it crashed!!!! I was up til 130AM trying to coax it to come back to life reload. Nothing, blank blue screen. I ran all the system restores, etc. NOTHING!!!! I finally cried and went to bed.
This AM I missed my alarm, so I missed my Body Pump workout!

I decided to give the computer one more chance. I rebooted, and after going thru all the 'stuff'. I was finally able to reset to factory defaults. BUT, this means I LOST everything!!! All my documents! Now, its running all the windows updates again. 77 of them. Thatll take A LONG TIME!  I called my supervisor, and he was upset, but he didnt blame me, but was upset that we lost so much.

So while, my computer is updating I ran my wonderful son to my parents so he could mow, (He faithfully mows their yard every Saturday).
So, Im sitting here all alone, No computer, No TV, and I start to stalk the kitchen cupboards. I found a bag of Crinkle Cut Potato Chips. Open the bag, and started to eat. All the while, thinking about all the info I lost, and how long it will take me to get caught up. And the info Im to report to the church tomorrow. I kept eating, and eating. AND I DONT EVEN LIKE POTATO CHIPS!!!!!

All the sudden my throat started to hurt. I must not have chewed the chip completely, because one scratched the begeebees outta my throat.
Tha scratch was like, WAKE UP DEB!!! I stopped mid chew. spit out the mouthful in the trash can, and thot, 'What the heck!!' (Ok those werent the words, but I dont cuss out loud, so i wont repeat them here)

Now I feel like crap, its only been 30 mins, and my stomach is alreay churning. I have never had a binge before. EVER!!! It was like I wasnt even thinking. My hand went from bag to mouth to bag to mouth. It was kinda euphoric. I dont really know how to explain it.

I sure to goodness hope I never experience that again.
So of course now Im beating myself up over it, and I feel even worse.

WATER!! I need water!!!

laundry soap

One of my goals is to be a better steward of our money.

Today I made homemade laundry soap. I opted for the powder version cause Im lazy and the liquid looks time consuming, and I dont have an extra pot to boil the soap.

Take any bar soap. I chose Fels Naptha, but I hear you can use any bar soap, such as Dove, Ivory, etc..
Super Washing Soda, and Borax. (I found all these in the laundry aisle at my local Walmart)

I bought a cheap cheese grater and grated the Fels Naptha. (I used the big end of the grater for my first batch).  TO BIG..

I recommend using the small end of the grater.
I now have awesome bicep muscles.
I mixed 4 Cups of shredded Fels Naptha, 2 Cups Borax, and 2 Cups Washing Soda.

You can see the difference in the bigger grating and the smaller gratings.

One TBSP for regular loads and two TBSP for dirtier loads.

Ill let you know how it works for me.

Weight loss Survivor Style

Do you follow survivor?  This may be a weight loss challenge for you.
After you register, you will be divided into teams. You vote people off. (the eliminated still have a chance to win).
Winners get some awesome prizes.

I gave in....

To my son!!!

Well it only took me 5 days to give in and bake my son his chocolate chip cookies and refill his college tub.
His tub is filled and the rest are in the freezer for the next 'mom I need cookies' refill.

(I really want to lose my two pounds this week, so Im not going to have one of those ooey gooey chocolatey filled cookies this week!)

I have signed up for myfitnesspal.com to track my food and exercise.  Ive seen lots of other blogs that have a picture of their myfitnesspal.com stats, and I was wondering if someone can tell me how they do that?  Id love the accountablity of posting the whats of my food and movement.

Rules: (as posted on the  Christmas Dress Challenge) 1. your starting weight, 2. the size of the dress you're aiming for (can be a guess, adjusted later, if you haven't bought it), 3. the name(s) of the book/workbook you'll be using to work in your particular issue(s), 4. the caloric limit you've set for yourself, 5. the type of exercise(s) you plan to do (at least 3x a week), 6. an (optional) photo/pic of the dress/clothing item  (one already bought or ad image or whatever), 7.  and how many glasses of water/fluids you plan to consume daily (even if it's just a starting guess and can be adjusted later). Ditto with calories: You may start off at a number that doesn't let you lose or is too low and can adjust later. Just need initial stats to serve as YOUR GOALS/TARGETS!

1.  Starting Weight: 209.8  (I found out my camera weights 4 oz! Cause I was 209.4 the first time) :)

2.  Im aiming for size 18.

3. Name of Book: Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst  Made to Crave website
I just looked thru some others challengers linkups and I see some others are using this book too. Since Ive already read that book once, I may try 1000 Gifts By Ann Voskamp instead.  But I need to order it.

4. Caloric Limit: 1100 to 1200

5. Exercise: 5K in 100 days by Brad Gansberg... This is three days a week. 2 Days a week at the gym for free weights, medicine balls, and Body Pump classes.

6. Dress: Im choosing pants and a shirt instead of a dress. Ive gone shopping the last two weeks and looked on the net or several weeks and just cant find something I like or can afford. I really wanted to have it hanging in front of me for inspiration.  I found a pair of pants and a shirt that I like. BUT, the pants, a size 18 FIT!!! YES!!! and when I went back for a 16 or 14 they didnt have one. SO, I chose a differnt style and the 18 was TOO TIGHT!! Right now Im wavering between 20 and 22 depending on the brand.
The shirt is a 16/18.  And the pants are an 18. I cant wait to use this as a before pic!!!
I would love to lose 15 lbs during this challenge!!

7. Water: 100 oz per day

Looking forward to sharing this journey with each of you!
Blessings

Thats not on my chore list!

Every year when my kids have a birthday, they are lavished with gifts given a small gift and, my favorite part, a NEW chore.  When they turned 11 they were taught how to wash there own clothes!! YUP, thats right!! I havent done their laundry (except for emergencies and surgeries that inhibited them from going down to the basement) for SEVERAL years!!

SO why is it, that when my 17 year old, very capable, handsome son comes home from college for the weekend,  and lays his stench filled  laundry bag on the kitchen floor, I smile, pick it up and head to the basement???

and I do this......

Two loads of laundry, washed and dryed.

HMMMMM Wonder what he wants me to do with that empty cookie tub? : )  NO, I AM NOT BAKING COOKIES!!!! I WONT GIVE IN!! CAUSE ID BE VERY TEMPTED TO EAT A DOZEN!! Maybe next time he comes home!!

Body Pump

Tonight I went weak in the knees!!!

My husband has been going to Body Pump at our gym for the past few weeks. Ive been rather TERRIFIED to try because Im so afraid of failure!! If I dont know for sure Ill succeed, I quit before I start!

Tonight I gathered my fears off the floor and pumped some iron!

It was totally awesome!! I wont tell you that i whimped out and started out small, and only used one and 2.5 lb weights, but I sure felt the burn.

I just got home and went upstairs to change. Going up was fine, but coming down, I felt like my knees were going to give out.
Cant wait to go back!!
